The wall-hacking works to our house started today with the laying of electrical wiring and new power and switch points. I went down to our house after work for a quick peek… Here are some pictures from my visit:
The switch-point from which our future water feature will be plugged-in. Yikes! What did they do to my main door which had just been varnished and touched up? I ended up informing our designer to ask her workers to clean up and protect the doors before carrying on with further work :P
The wiring for the switch point is run through the ceiling of the main door back into the switchboard area.
Our ceiling is wired up for the lighting points for the dining and living area prior to the false ceiling works.
This large hole in the wall (next to the study entrance) will house the main lights switch panel for the living/dining/corridor areas.
These are the hacking works to our study to move the switches/cable/phone points to a convenient location above our study table.
More wire work this time for the master bedroom.
An additional power point will be placed here outside the common bath so that Cy can plug in her hair dryer in the future.
Two things I highlighted to the designer…
The workers forgot to turn off the tap tight after using the yard toilet! And they forgot to close the yard window :P
