Due to our busy schedules and a difficulty in finding a common convenient time for us all, our designer had kindly arranged for a curtains & blinds selection session with the sales person on a public holiday, National Day.
Despite me still feeling unwell especially when I’m on those medicine that cause drowsiness, I couldn’t miss such an important appointment so I managed to drag myself there. Although there are hiccups along the way during our renovation, we are still glad that we have engaged a designer who can help us oversee the whole project and even accompany us for the shopping of lights and curtains/blinds. That saves us time from looking for one ourselves.
As it was the C.K. Tangs last day of sales of 10% – 20% discount off with a further 12% rebate for Citibank cardmembers, we got ourselves some household items such as a Meyer non-stick cooking wok, a non-stick spatula, a small 1.7 litre Moulinex electric kettle, a small 3-cups Zojirushi rice cooker and a Philips cordless DECK phone.
Would love to have a bigger rice-cum-porridge cooker but decided to settle for a small rice cooker for the 2 of us first. As for the electric kettle, we couldn’t find one that can hold at least 2 litre, made of ‘metal’ yet without a metal coil inside. The closest one we found were from Kenwood and Iona. Not many choices to choose from. We almost wanted to get the one from Kenwood but the sales person wasn’t very helpful so we boycotted it. As for Iona, the cover was very difficult to open and close so we dropped the idea. That was how we got the Moulinex one instead and moreover, it was the last piece on display. Well, at least we have one to tide us over till we find a better one. :)Â
