My first attempt at preparing an English breakfast for eL on his first day of work in a brand new year! Happy 2011!

eL specially planned to conduct MOET training in U.K. during my school holidays so that for the first time, I was able to follow him. Due to heavy snowing and treacherous road conditions, I stayed in Novotel hotel at Manchester throughout the 2.5 days that he needed to teach. I spent my time working out in the gym, watching “Phua Chu Kang” movie on his iPad and napping away the afternoon. I was definitely not as adventurous as I had been while I was in Abu Dhabi last year. Fortunately, I was invited to his course dinner on the 2nd night.

Lake District

Thanks to my 大姑’s special Microsoft employee rate，we indulged in a 2 day-1 night stay at Marina Bay Sands. We requested for high floor, city view and got our wish granted! View was magnificient at 43rd storey (oops … or was it 42nd? memory is failing me a little here)!  City view-facing rooms have shower cubicles but no bathtubs/balcony whereas seaview-facing rooms have bathtubs and a balcony but there are a lot of constructions going on at the seaview direction so we were happier with our city view-facing room. To top off that, we were lucky to get a spacious room with a spacious living area attached. For the same amount of approximately only $250 we paid, some of my other relatives were assigned to much smaller rooms on lower floors.
