Forever Love

Binding us together in perfect harmony

I reserved a table for 2 at Melt, The World Cafe in Oriental Singapore Hotel and told the receptionist that I would be celebrating my husband’s birthday that night. They were so kind to assign us a private corner in the restaurant and offer a complimentary birthday cake. Since it was still Chinese New Year, they even treated us ‘Yusheng’, complimentary! When we were about to have our dessert, the crew came towards our table with a birthday cake and even sang the birthday song as they walked towards us. Such a pleasant surprise! Thumbs up for their excellent service!

Happy Birthday, dear!

Thank you for your well-wishes and blessings! We had just returned from our honeymoon in Switzerland & Italy and even managed to squeeze in a short trip to the Black Forest in South Western Germany on our first day as well! It was very enjoyable and the weather was cool while not too cold! It was also great fun as we made friends with 3 other couples.

Here are the long-awaited photographs from our wedding & honeymoon! Just click on the links below to view them. :)

Apologies for the recent lack of updates as we’ve been busy moving into our new home :)

In between the moving in, adjusting to a new home, doing the necessary chores to keep things spick and span, and cooking for the both of us, I finally found a little time to take some pictures for an update here…

Our brand new living room… finally complete with all the appliances (TV and home theatre system). All we need is something to decorate the display cabinets / shelves.

Dinner is finally served!

Our house is almost complete! Short of the TV and home-theatre system, we’re almost done with the major appliances.

While not exactly an “appliance”, the delivery of our new piano brightened up Cy’s weekend considerably. She has been wishing for a new piano for ages and finally her wish has been fulfiled :)

We decided that we needed some thing to drape and cover the piano with, and so off we went the subsequent day to Yue Hwa. This is how the piano looks at night, complete with covers and all.

At the same time, we also bought drapes for the new PC and all-in-one printer that we’ve got in the study.

The fridge also came along this weekend and now sits pretty in the kitchen :)

Cy bought me my clock radio alarm for the bedroom. I installed and tested it out yesterday. Works great! Here is how it looks alongside the bedroom phone.

At the end of the day yesterday, we sat down and played around with the curtain decorations in the living room. I think this looks like a pretty decent combination for a cosy evening :)

Our trial-dinner at the Marina Mandarin took place last Friday. The lobster salad was marvellous! The fish was tender and the prawns were great! The abalone was delicious! Not forgetting the smoked tea duck with mini pancakes that was unique and yummy! Must definitely remember to reserve a space for the subsequent dishes at the back. It can be quite filling by the 4th dish. Generally, everything went quite well except for the noodles (changing that to the Mee Sua instead) and the dessert (lotus seeds too hard, so we’ve asked them to cook them a little softer. Also, we’ve requested adding 百合 to the dessert for good luck!).

Now for a visual preview of the dinner menu :)…

(Lobster Salad, Jellyfish with Sesame Seed, Panfried Abalone Clam with Garlic, Seafood Roll & Deepfried Meat with Beancurd Skin)

We missed taking a picture of the presentation of the dish before they started serving, as we were too eager to try it. Anyway, above was how it looked on our plate.
