Forever Love

Binding us together in perfect harmony

As the promotion at Vhive is going to end soon and eL is on call today, we made a trip down to Great World City to buy our study room chairs from Vhive yesterday night.

After which, we popped over to BEST Denki to purchase the Panasonic NRC 373M (white) refrigerator. It meets our requirement of being made in Japan and has an ice-maker with at least 2 pulled-out compartments below, albeit it’s less than 400 litres. However, we reckoned that since there are only 2 of us to begin with, we decided to make do with it first till our needs grow ‘bigger’.

This leaves us with only 2 more ‘big’ items to purchase:

– Sony KLV-32S200A 32″ LCD TV

– Sony DAV-DZ820KW Wireless Home Theatre

Our original wedding dinner menu as in contract:

1) Lobster Cold Dish Combination

(Lobster Salad, Jellyfish with Sesame Seed, Panfried Abalone Clam with Garlic, Seafood Roll & Deepfried Meat with Beancurd Skin)

2) Braised Shark’s Fin Soup Seafood (Crabmeat, Scallop, Fish Maw)

*3) Boneless Fried Chicken with Plum Sauce

*4) Steamed Live Garoupa with Soya Sauce

*5) Poached Live Prawns with Chinese Herbs

6) Braised Abalone with Seasonal Vegetable

7) Smoked Tea Duck with Mini Pancake

*8) Fried Hokkien Mee Sua with Assorted Meats

*9) Chilled Durian Pudding

————————————

For the above * dishes, we are given a choice to change to

3) *Chef Joe Tang’s Special Crispy Roast Chicken

*Steamed Chicken with Chinese Wine & Herbs

4) *Steamed Live Garoupa “Teochew Style”

5) *Pan-fried Prawns in Butter & Garlic Sauce

   *Pan-fried Prawns in Oriental Sauce

   *Pan-fried Prawns with Quaker Oats

But I think the original selection is still the best. So no change here hopefully. :)

8) *Double Happiness Noodles with Assorted Meat

*Steamed Lotus Leaf Rice with Assorted Meat

*Braised Ee Fu Noodles with Crabmeat & Mushroom

Whatever it is, definitely a no-no to the Leaf Rice, as it would be too filling!

9) *“Happiness till Eternity” Red Bean Paste with Lotus Seeds

   *Yam Paste with Gingko Nuts

   *Mango Sago with Ice Cream

Anyone has recommendations for delicious dishes that are must-try? :)

I initially wanted to frame five enlarged pictures for hanging on the dining room wall. Upon further discussion with Dad, he suggested that I use the four framed pictures I already have (they were previously submitted for the “UOB Painting of the Year” competition) instead. This would save the trouble and costs of making new enlargements and framing them.

I measured the frames that I have last night and came up with a new hanging plan. Dad and I then headed down to our house after work this evening and helped me put in the picture hooks as well as hang the pictures.

I am pretty happy with my personal photo exhibition at home :)

We received samples of the wedding invitation cards that Marina Mandarin will be giving us for our wedding banquet. There are two designs to choose from. The red one looks better generally (and will go down better with the older folks compared to the white one) although I think the inside design of the white one looks better. Here are some pictures:

Just popped by our house after work just now for a swim :)

Noted some of the retifications made so far:

The magnetic board in the study finally works!

DSC00286.jpg
Just as a test, I tried fixing a stack of papers onto the board with a single magnet. Works perfectly :)

An even stronger hold with two magnets in place

The height of the chandelier has also been adjusted.

DSC00283.jpg
The living room ceiling light has been fixed. All three lighting tubes in it can finally be turned on nicely. This is the living room lit up just by the ceiling light alone. Nice and bright!

The door stopper/magnet that we bought at Home-Fix yesterday has also been put up. No longer having to struggle with the flimsy rubber door stopper anymore!

The security bolt/chain for the main door has also been fixed up.
